Evacuation tip 1: have a pet plan

Posted on the former site on 12 May 2013.

The first tip in the 2013 series said it plainly: have a pet, have a plan. Decide whether you would stay home or leave, and stock supplies for either case.

The old post suggested a week of food and water for each person and pet. The ASPCA suggests 7 to 10 days of food and at least 7 days of bottled water for each person and pet. Ready.gov suggests packing pet supplies in your go bag and learning your evacuation routes.
