The former group posted a tribute to Darlene Dillon in December 2012 and another on 27 July 2013, on the anniversary of her death.
What the group said about her
- She led a Community Emergency Response Team in the Glen Cove area and pressed Nassau County emergency officials to consider the needs of pet owners. The group credited that persistence with bringing the county and nonprofits together in a collaboration that led to the Sandy emergency pet shelter.
The 2013 post said her family had named the group a recipient of donations in her memory. The group is no longer an exempt charity, so those gifts cannot be made now. We do not know of a successor.
