A Long Beach cat owner and Max, 2013

The former group posted this story in 2013. It followed a man who lived on the fourth floor of a Long Beach high-rise with his Siamese cat, Max.

As the post told it, he watched the storm surge flood the streets and decided to leave when cars began to float. He took a few belongings and Max, reached a county shelter, and left Max at the emergency pet shelter at Mitchel Field while he looked for somewhere to stay.

He visited Max often and told volunteers he did not know what he would have done without them. Even after taking Max home he came back to thank them. The post said he hoped never to go through it again.

The man is not named here. The 2013 page used his full name in its title.
