Mobile command trailer announced, 2013

Posted on the former site on 28 July 2013.

In July 2013 the former group announced a "Mobile Command Unit". It said the unit was ready to support the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management if another storm like Sandy came, a year after Sandy flooded the shore.

What it was

A cargo trailer, which the group said came from an unsolicited gift by the Supreme Master Ching Hai Association. It said the trailer could move equipment to a site where a shelter had to be set up quickly, could house animals briefly because of its ventilation, and could work as a command center for taking in animals and returning them to owners.

The post said volunteers cared for more than 500 animals from Nassau, Suffolk, Brooklyn and Queens during Sandy, and asked for gifts to keep the team strong. The post gave contact details for the former group. They are not repeated because they no longer reach it.

The donate page later in 2013 said the trailer was second-hand and still needed signage.
