Working the phones at the Sandy shelter

Posted on the former site on 15 February 2013.

This post profiled the shelter manager the group had put in charge of the Nassau County Emergency Pet Shelter, Liz Fox. It showed her on the phone, trying to reach the owners of pets still at the shelter more than three months after Sandy.

She said many owners could not go home yet, and that with the shelter about to close the team was asking each what they needed and helping find other housing for pets whose owners were not ready. The post said her goal was to see every animal go home.
