The group asks for funding leads, 2014
Posted on the former site on 17 February 2014.
In February 2014 the former group asked readers: do you know of funding sources that fit our mission?
What it said about its money
- Funders of animal charities usually back spaying and neutering, adoption and anti-cruelty work. Emergency services for animals, it said, are usually government jobs, so the group fell between the two.
- Its volunteers ran the Nassau County Emergency Pet Shelter after Sandy, and it said it received no government funding for that.
- Sandy took a huge toll on its resources, and volunteers were working to replace equipment so they could respond again.
It asked for leads to public or private grants, corporate sponsors or sales profit-sharing. The post gave contact details for the former group. They are not repeated because they no longer reach it. This was one of the last posts archived. The IRS later recorded the group as having lost its exemption. See its history.
