Tip 5: a photo of you with your pet

Posted on the former site on 16 May 2013.

Carry a picture of yourself with your pet. If you are separated, it helps you prove the animal is yours and lets others help find it. Ready.gov gives the same advice.

The old tip said to keep that photo in your pet's go kit with a week of food and bottled water, health records, medicine, care instructions, your contact details and an out-of-town emergency contact. The ASPCA suggests 7 to 10 days of food and at least 7 days of water, and a photo copy or USB drive of medical records.
